The facilities of the School of Dentistry are housed in the Wood Memorial, Lyons, and Perkinson Buildings and contain clinical facilities, research facilities, classrooms, student laboratories, departmental offices and a computer learning laboratory. The laboratories and classrooms contain closed circuit television receivers. The Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences is located across the street from the School of Dentistry. This is the largest health science library in Virginia.
The Orthodontic Practice is a state-of-the art facility located in the Lyons Building within the School of Dentistry. The program strives for a private practice setting using up-to-date techniques and equipment. Currently, patient recordkeeping, scheduling, and accounting are completely digital. There is a separate digital radiology facility operated by the department located adjacent to the clinic area.
